Telugu Association of Greater Kansas City (TAGKC) was formed in 1981. Over the years it has grown and has become an integral part of Telugu Community in Greater Kansas City and an active participant of Indian community events like ‘Festival of India’ held to commemorate India’s Independence Day. TAGKC organizes events to celebrate major festivals and organizes a picnic during summer as scheduled activities. Besides these, several other literary and cultural events go on like musical nights, fund-raising programs, Poojas, Kidfest, etc.
Usually the events have competitions for children of all ages called KidsFest, a social hour to interact with other members of the community and a cultural program followed by dinner. Cultural events organized during festivals consist of various items like dances, skits, plays, singing, mimicry, etc.
Most activities and programs are open to the public and not restricted. However, members can enjoy certain benefits. Membership is open throughout the year. For more information and form go to the link. TAGKC is governed by an Executive Committee elected at the end of every year and operates from Jan 1 to Dec 31. The Executive Committee is supported by several other sub-committees like the Audit Committee, Program Committee, Technology Committee, Execution Committee & Board Of Trustee.
Our website www.tagkc.net, which was first introduced during 2001 is being updated periodically. You can send interesting items or information of general interest to be added to the site by contacting TAGKC Executive committee.
